APIS-P(R) consists of eight tests: Behavior, Squares, Synonyms, Classification, Number Transformation, New Words, Cubes, and Stories. Four types of ability were taken into account in the construction of APIS-P(R): abstract-logical, verbal, visual-spatial, and social. Each of these abilities is represented by two tests. There are five 15-item tests and three 10-item tests. The items in two tests are in a forced-choice formal and open-ended in the remaining tests.
The more difficult version of the APIS test battery is APIS-Z(R).

The separate tests are largely saturated with the general factor but they also have their own specificity, as demonstrated by factor analysis.
